- Paper Collectibles --Ephemera (e-phem-er-a) is a term used to embrace a wide range of minor, everyday documents and artifacts, most intended for one-time or short-term use. Collecting ephemeral paper items first became widespread during the Victorian era when trade cards, die-cuts, and greeting cards were accumulated to paste into scrap albums--a very popular pastime for young and old alike.
